![]() ![]() I then carried on after completing the foundation course then moved on to the main Arabic course then Advanced then onto the vocabulary buikder. I wasn’t fluent or able to hold my own in a conversation but I noticed progress in a short amount of time with little or no effort….all I did was listen and repeat. In a matter of days I had developed from someone who knew a few words to knowing actual phrases. I studied the course whilst driving to and from work Monday to Friday just listening and following the instructions. Then when looking in the booklet it stated that students didn’t need to do anything apart from sit and listen to the course and follow the instructions. As I got the course I thought oh God here we go I’m going to have to study and put in loads of effort sitting at a desk with a pen and paper. ![]() I loaned the foundation course at a time when the only Arabic words I knew were hello, how are you and thank you. After a few more trips to Manchester library just looking around and noticed right next to the French and German courses was an Arabic course! I couldn’t believe it! I remember thinking “I wish they did the same for Arabic”. It was as if he was following me everywhere. Then one day after a trip to the good old Manchester library I noticed the same courses (and the pose). I had no idea what they were like but thought these must be good. I kept seeing the same courses (and pose) in various libraries and shops. I originally noticed the courses in libraries with his signature pose on the front for French and German and thought this guy looks like he knows his stuff. There are courses for every language you can think of…even Arabic! ![]() You’ve probably heard of the Michel Thomas courses as they’re probably the most well known language courses in the world. ![]()
